The British Society of Baking (BSB), affiliated to the American Society of Baking, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing a forum for learning within the baking industry. THE BSB spans the entire baking industry from retail, plant, wholesale and craft bakers, as well as from millers, ingredients and equipment manufacturers, research associations and training and education establishments.
With an emphasis on education, DuPont are pleased to announce that Lena Hamann, Strategic Marketing Manager, Bakery, DuPont Nutrition & Health will close this year’s Annual Autumn Conference on October 11 from 14.40 – 15.15 with a presentation entitled: Insights into the real gluten free needs and expectations of UK consumers.
Gluten free is no longer a trend, but has moved to the mainstream. DuPont conducted proprietary consumer research into the growing gluten free bakery markets of the UK, France, Spain and Italy. Consumers sampled a selection of commercialized gluten free products and provided concrete feedback across a number of characteristics including, appearance, taste, texture and size. Today, Lena will outline some of the principal findings from the UK market.
