Danisco recognized by Nutrition Business Journal for its science-based approach to probiotic efficacy

On July 21, 2011, Danisco received Nutrition Business Journal's (NBJ) Scientific Achievement Award at the 14th Annual NBJ Summit held in Dana Point, California. NBJ Publisher Patrick Rea and Editor in Chief Marc Brush granted the award for Danisco’s commitment to developing probiotics based on sound science. Scott Bush, vice president of marketing for Danisco Health and Nutrition, accepted the award on the company’s behalf.

“We appreciate being recognized by NBJ for our pioneering, condition-specific approach to probiotic efficacy,” said Bush. “With regulatory scrutiny and consumer group lawsuits on the rise, our customers can rely on Danisco’s HOWARU® range of probiotics to offer the assurance of clinically documented health benefits.”

Science at the heart of Danisco’s strategy

Since launching its Health & Nutrition Platform two years ago, the company’s R&D group has developed an innovation pipeline focusing on efficacy studies. According to Dr. Julian Stowell, vice president of scientific affairs, “This award is the result of successful collaborative work in perfect alignment with our strategy.”

The award reinforces Danisco’s position as the world’s leading provider of probiotics. As food and dietary supplement companies experience increasing pressure to provide scientific support for their product claims, Danisco is poised to deliver.

“This recognition supports our reputation for providing substantiated health ingredients to meet the demands of the market,” said Fabienne Saadane-Oaks, president of Danisco BioActives.
