DuPont Nutrition & Health to Showcase Regional Impact, Global Capabilities at FoodTech 2014

DuPont Nutrition & Health will demonstrate the impact of combining its broad ingredient portfolio, global innovation networks and strong regional presence to help Dairy manufacturers respond to industry needs at FoodTech 2014 in Herning (Denmark).

With the end of milk quotas in 2015, the anticipated increase in milk production has raised fears about the challenges to Dairy manufacturers operating in an already saturated and increasingly competitive market.

Turning challenge into opportunity

DuPont Nutrition & Health has a strong line-up of ingredient strategies to support Dairy manufacturers in the EU during this turbulent time. Visitors to the DuPont stand can learn more about the company’s newest offerings to help Dairy manufacturers improve productivity while maintaining quality and optimizing costs. Product concept samples of a high textured, cost optimized premium yogurt, ideal for the Nordic market will be offered to illustrate one of these new Dairy ingredient solutions in action.

The innovative, thick stirred yogurt sample is made using YO-MIX® T Yogurt cultures from the DuPont™ Danisco® range. Due to the extensive knowledge and expertise of DuPont scientists coupled with advanced equipment in the DuPont dairy pilot plant, DuPont is now able to more deeply evaluate the shear resistance of yogurt starter cultures. YO-MIX® T Yogurt cultures are based on a formulation of high shear resistance cultures (Streptococcus thermophilus), giving the yogurt its high and incomparable texture. The Streptococcus thermophilus strains contained in this product are the subject of Intellectual Property rights owned by DuPont.

Sustainable solutions

“At DuPont we help Dairy manufacturers deliver sustainable products that improve food nutrition and safety, increase cost efficiencies and reduce food waste,” said Søren Tarp Pedersen, Sales Director, SAFI, Nordics, DuPont Nutrition & Health. “Achieving all that requires extensive know-how, the right products and effective collaboration with our customers. That’s what DuPont is all about.”

“The abolition of the milk quotas is expected to change the market radically. Our message to dairy manufacturers is that the change offers major opportunities to build on the positive global image of European dairy in growing export markets outside the EU,” says Signe Causse, Strategic Marketing Manager, Dairy, DuPont Nutrition & Health. “By focusing on sustainable solutions that increase shelf-life and optimize process efficiency, with more advanced raw materials procurement and industrialized processes, European dairy manufacturers should be able to maintain their market share. That’s where DuPont can help.”
