Research Assistant/Associate, Protein Purification

We are looking for a candidate who is...

• Primary responsibilities include purification and characterization of recombinant proteins as well as enzyme assays and applications development;
• Will do purifications at scales ranging from micrograms to grams of purified protein and the utilization of all protein purification methods including manual and automated chromatography systems;
• Will perform methods of protein analysis and crystallization;
• Will prepare clear and accurate protocols, data summaries and quantitative analyses for distribution to project teams, and ensure proper documentation of experimental data.

You are a candidate with following skills:

• Requires a minimum of a BS/MS in biochemistry, chemistry or a related field with at least 2 years of practical lab experience in an academic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology setting;
• Strong protein purification and a good understanding of protein purification method development are essential;
• Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of chromatographic methods for protein purification/characterization such as affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion, hydrophobic interaction, reverse phase chromatography, SDS-PAGE, etc., and excellent instrumental skills, including AKTA system, ultrafiltration and diafiltration, are required;
• The candidate must have good record keeping skills, excellent attention to detail, a good working understanding of laboratory reagent preparation, and experience with protein purification, protein crystallization, and biochemical assays for enzymatic activity.
• Fluent spoken and written English as well as Chinese.
