The site

Danisco Pirapozinho is part of Danisco Emulsifiers production organization although it is a multidivisional plant, and is part of the legal entity Danisco Brasil Ltda.

Production:emulsifiers, antioxidant blends, functional systems, textural ingredients, and enzyme blends.

Key technologies: Esterification, Distillation, Spray Drying, Powder and Liquid Blending.

Production runs from 1 to 4 shifts depending on the product lines and time of the year. Office hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Friday.

Certificates:certified in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 ed 2000 and in OHS AS 18001 since December 2003. Working in the highest quality standards and food safety, practices HACCP and GMP.

History

Danisco Pirapozinho started up production in 1988 as joint venture with IFU and Braswey.

In 1993 Danisco acquired 100% of the shares and several expansions were made since then.

Local community & environment

Pirapozinho is a small city of around 25,000 unhabitants, 580 km west of São Paulo, and the economy is based on agriculture, cattle and some industry and services.
