Fruity fresh yoghurt candy

Danisco flavour concepts inspire confectionery with a healthy feel.

Real yoghurt is catching on as the way to give confectionery a lighter, healthier image.

Now leading flavour house Danisco has launched a series of fruity flavourings specially designed to give yoghurt candies a natural fresh taste.

The flavourings have provided the basis for two new hard-boiled yoghurt candy concepts - Yogfruit, with peach, cherry and banana options, and Yogberry, comprising strawberry and raspberry. In each, the overall candy flavour is of fruity, mildly fermented yoghurt - a refreshing change from the heavy, creamy profile traditionally combined with fruit in confectionery products.

As consumer health awareness continues to influence market trends, an increasing number of new confectionery products draw on the popular yoghurt industry for inspiration.

Fruit yoghurts are tipped to experience strong market growth in the years ahead. Danisco’s Yogfruit and Yogberry concepts demonstrate some top opportunities for confectionery manufacturers to share the benefits of the growing yoghurt trend.
