Genencor launches dedicated Biosafety program
Genencor, a division of Danisco, has launched its Biosafety program focusing on areas like Biodefense, Bioremediation and Prion disinfection.
The initiative serves enzyme applications in settings from military to medical/dental. Enzymes provide a powerful, environmentally sound alternative to chemical decontamination solutions. Genencor is a global leader in biotechnology and a pioneer in protein engineering.
DEFENZ™ DEFENZ products meet the decontamination needs of the military and first responders, dealing with threats from chemical or biological warfare, or pesticide spills, or other hazards. In partnership with the United States Army, the company developed the DEFENZ™ line of decontamination enzymes to quickly, safely, and effectively break down life-threatening chemical and biological warfare agents. DEFENZ provides logistical, safety and environmental advantages over chemical solutions. PRIONZYME™ PRIONZYME™ , developed in collaboration between Genencor and the U.K.’s Health Protection Agency, greatly reduces the risk of potentially infectious prions that may remain on instruments used for medical, dental, research, or animal rendering applications. Safe and easy to use, Prionzyme inactivates prions with over a 10 million fold reduction in infectivity.
Continued innovation to solve real problems The line of Genencor biosafety solutions continues to expand as Genencor scientists lead the way in developing new answers to decontamination challenges. For more information on the program visit www.biosafetyenzymes.com or contact:
