With DuPont's acquisition of Danisco in 2011, DuPont's and Danisco's food ingredients businesses were combined into a premier and leading speciality food ingredient and safety business named Nutrition & Health headed by Craig F. Binetti.

Our business

Danisco ingredients are used in about every second ice cream and cheese, every third box of detergent and every fourth loaf of bread produced globally. Food ingredients and Genencor cover more aspects of consumers’ everyday lives than they could probably ever imagine.

When they get up in the morning, they might enjoy yoghurt containing our dairy cultures that provide an acidic taste and our pectin that makes the fruit distribute evenly.

They might be wearing jeans bleached and washed with our enzymes, just as they might be eating bread containing our enzymes, emulsifiers and dairy cultures.

Even the orange juice they drink was probably made using our enzymes, and the feed fed to the hens that provided the soft-boiled eggs contains our enzymes.

Global working partnership

Our global presence gives us proximity to our customers, strong local market knowledge and minimal transport from raw material to finished product.

We have production in countries like China, India, France, Denmark, USA and Brazil and have innovation in places like Australia, Singapore, USA, Finland, China and Denmark.

We collaborate closely with our customers all over the world. We have testing laboratories in many countries, so we can develop and test specific products, and tailor them to fit the local market.

Our biggest market places are Europe and USA, but we also see solid growth in Asia and Latin America.

Past and present

Danisco A/S was formed in 1989 through a merger of the two old C.F. Tietgen companies Danish Sugar and Danish Distillers with Dansk Handels- og Industri Company (Danisco A/S).

Through a number of acquisitions and divestments Danisco evolved to be among the world’s leading producers of food ingredients and industrial ingredients to industry.

With the acquisition in 2011, Danisco became part of DuPont who offers a wide range of innovative products and services for markets including agriculture, nutrition, electronics, communications, safety and protection, home and construction, transportation and apparel.
