For the pig and poultry producer feed is the biggest single cost, but approximately 70% of phosphorus contained in cereal grains, oil seed meals and their by-products is in the form of phytate which is poorly digested by pigs and poultry. Phytate also binds with other nutrients in the diet, reducing their availability to the animal.
Phyzyme XP contains phytase, a phytate-degrading enzyme which is highly efficient at releasing phosphorus, calcium, energy and amino acids from phytate. The amount of these nutrients released by Phyzyme XP will vary according to the phytate level in the diet.
Phycheck is a unique service for pig and poultry feed producers which provides phosphorus, calcium, energy and amino acid matrix values according to the phytate level of the diet and Phyzyme XP dose rate. These matrix values can then be used in the feed formulation process, providing opportunities to reduce feed costs. The amount of inorganic phosphorus that must be added to the feed is reduced and the diet can be reformulated to take account of improvements in energy and amino acid digestibility.
