Mono- and diglycerides

Mono-diglycerides are produced from an esterification between triglyceride and glycerol. It is available in variations depending on the concentration of mono-diglyceride, typically ranging between 40% and 60%.

GRINDSTED® MONO-DI is the brand name for Danisco's mono-diglycerides.

Application areas

The usages of mono-diglycerides are multiple. Applications include:

  • increased stability in margarine
  • reduced stickiness and improved softness in for example caramels and chewing gum
Product examples are
  • GRINDSTED® MONO-DI HP 60
  • CREMODAN® Super

Legal status varies from country to country. Local food regulations should always be consulted concerning the status of this product, as legislation regarding its use in food may vary from country to country.
